Got milk?

posted Monday, 14 January 2008

Hey everyone! I hope everyone's weekend went well and didn't go as fast as mine did.  Wouldn't it be nice if things were reversed and we only worked Saturday and Sunday and had Monday through Friday off but still got paid the same pay?  How lovely would that be?  I swear sometimes it feels like I go to sleep Sunday and when I wake up again it's Monday.

Yall, my tummy is hurting so bad.  I went to Starbucks this morning cause I was craving a Vanilla Latte.  I guess they have these new Skinny Lattes and I've been wanting to try one, but have been hesitant because I couldn't imagine them being too appetizing.  So I pull up to the window to pay for my drink and the Oh so friendly woman at the window asks me if I want to sample a Mocha Skinny Latte.  It always amazes me, especially early in the morning, how the people that work at Starbucks are ALWAYS so friendly and perky.  It's almost sickening.  But I guess I'd be perky too if I had an unlimited supply of coffee at my disposal.  People would probably think I was looney.  So anyway, since I've been wanting to try them and their giving samples I'm like 'what the hey, I'll try it.'  BIG BIG mistake.  I don't know what the HECK I was thinking.  Actually I WASN'T thinking at all, that's the problem.  Me and milk do NOT get along at all.  We have this love hate relationship; I LOVE it and it HATES me and my digestive system.  Lol.  So thanks to that damn skinny latte, that was made with milk and not SOY milk, I'm doubled over in some serious pain right now.  Damn Starbucks.  Grrrr!!!!

Anyway, my weekend was pretty good.  I woke up Saturday morning to my honey Hubby cooking me breakfast.  He's not really one to cook so this was such a great surprise.  I thought it was so sweet that he wanted to cook for me.  I worked for a few hours on Saturday, so it was nice to be able to eat something before I left.  He made waffles, cheese eggs and bacon.  Awwww!  And it tasted good too.  Lol.    And guess what else yall????  My husband also made dinner on Sunday.  He found this recipe for this picante' chicken and decided that he was going to try his hand at making it with some Spanish rice and beans.  It was SOOOO good.  I was like "GO HUBBY!!!!"  He looked so cute working in the kitchen.  It was so nice to have a break from cooking, not to mention that he did such a fabulous job.  I'm telling you I could really get used to this.  He didn't believe that I liked it as much as I did with his silly self.  He thinks I keep telling him how well he did because I want him to cook every Sunday.  Not to say that I mind THAT idea, and did mention him doing that, but it really did taste great.  So we'll see if this Sunday dinner thing continues.  *Fingers Crossed* and toes.....

Of course we watched a few games this weekend.   I was SO pissed that the Chargers beat the Colts.  I'm not a huge fan, actually I don't care for them much at all, but I can't stand the Chargers so I'm not happy about this game at all.  I was pleased about the Patriots win, and wasn't surprised at all.  I'm pretty confident that they'll be superbowl champs.  Although, shoot let me take that back cause I swear my teams ALWAYS F up in the superbowl without fail.  So let me take that back.  I'm not confident at all; nope not one little bit.  And I'm not even going to talk about Dallas and T.O's drama queen ass.  He really gets on my nerves, but WHATEVER!!!!

One day me and the hubby were scrolling through movies on On Demand and caught a preview for a Billy Blanks Tae bo video.  It was only 15 minutes but we were up trying to get out Tae bo on.  After about 15 minutes I was telling Hubby "Hmmmm, we can do this."  Psh!  Yeah right! Who was I kidding.  We went out on Sunday and picked up one of his dvd's and damn if that thing didn't kill me.  For an hour I was trying to keep up, but I was sweating, breathing like crazy, holding on to the wall for support and it just wasn't a pretty sight.  I'm not even one that sweats a lot but I felt like I had been standing out in the pouring rain.  After we finished the first hour he's talking about the next part is the Ultimate extreme workout.  WHAT THE?????  We're gonna have to get into the first hour and be able to keep up with that one before even attempting to tackle the 2nd half.  That crap was no joke.  I'm not discouraged though, yall are gonna just have to pray for me.  LMAO.

It was cool though cause the kids were even doing it with us.  My ol stankin teenager thinks he's just Mr. fitness all star and was talking about how easy it was.  I'm like Yeah, if I was 16 I'd think the same thing but I think I did pretty good considering.  The baby was trying to keep up for a minute then he sat down and started playing.  You know a two year olds attention span will NOT allow for him to do the same activity for an hour, just not gonna happen.

Anyway, that was our weekend in a nutshell.

Everyone have a good week and I'll check in with yall later.  Peace and Blessings.

Get your family Tae-bo on! I think I'm all out of excuses for T.O. I kept defending him, saying he's misunderstood, but the crying thing was just too much for me. I got no answer for that one. You should sue Starbucks. LOL

@ Gina: I would have been falling all over the place had I not had the wall to support me. Lol I'm very out of shape too but I'm going to keep at it. If yall don't hear from me anymore you know Tae bo killed me. LMAO

@ Rashan: It's a good thing I wasn't there cause I probably would have walked up to him, slapped those damn glasses off his face and face and poked him in his eyes. When ever I start to let forget about his past behavior he does SOMETHING to remind me how freaking stupid he is.

And WHY am I wanting some Starbucks again today after my little incident. You would think my stomach STILL hurting would deter me, but nope I still want it. Silly me. Lol

@ Carmell: I haven't had any Soy milk that I really like. In my coffee I can taste a slight difference. I don't like drinking the rice dream straight, I can only do it in my coffee and cereal that's about it. You should try Lactaid. I used to drink that all the time, it's lactose free, but for some reason would still irritate my stomach. It may work for you though and it's REALLY good. I loved it.

As far as soy milk goes, I watched something on the news yesterday that said they did a study and women that drank soy compared to women that drank regular milk had less belly fat. If that wasn't incentive enough for me to continue to drink Soy, I don't know what is. Lol

Case of the bubble guts huh? Too bad girl. You know I've never tried Starbucks before cuz people say it's like crack.

Keep up the Tae Bo. I need to get off my butt as well.

LMAO at the Tae Bo Visions swirling in my head...hehe... I tried Tae Bo, umm...ONCE. Have no idea where that stinkin DVD went. Might be a coaster... Anywho, go you! I applaud your whole family for getting up and trying it, it's definatly a work out. I'm just too lazy...

Can't you request that they put soy milk in the coffee you want to try? I haven't tried rice dream cuss, frankly, it freaks me out, but I would think they could switch ingredients for those that can't really drink milk. ...and you should come to the starbucks out here, mmmkkkk??? They are NOT chipper AT ALL. I usually boycott starbucks, but the one or two times I've been in there they looked at me like WTF you doing here. I get those gift cards all the time and usually give them away since, well...I don't drink coffee, lol. I gave their hot chocolate a chance over Xmas and was sorely disappointed.

@ Kasandra: LMAO. It IS like crack, which is why I want some more today SOOOOO bad. I'm about to go get my tae bo on now since my little terror is still asleep.

@ Mamba: Girl, I wasn't thinking. They had some premade samples and I just took it not thinking to ask for a soy one. I paid dearly for that one. I agree with you on the hot cocoa; I got one for my daughter before and it was like ICK. I can make better at home and was pissed that I spent the money for it. I love when people give me the gift cards, you would think I won the lottery or something. lol

Girl, I know how you feel with the milk!! I can only eat it with cereal, and even then I have to be careful cuz that ish will sneak up on me *if you know what I'm sayin*. I'm a hardcore Giants fan, so seeing T.O.'s cryin azz made my weekend!!

And good for the whole fam doing the Tae Bo. I would have been with the youngin' though...sitting down to play after about 5 minutes is more my speed.

@ Tasha: I hope you're feeling better.

I used to be able to have it with cereal too, but now even that small of an amount doesn't go over well either. It's so irritating. lol

The Giant's BOO HISS! I hate the Packers more than the Giants so hopefully they stomp them. But still Boo NY. Lol T.O is SUCH an embarrassment.

One day I'd love to stop working for others and start working for myself. I have some ideas but they hinge on a few other things going well. Unless you are CEO of a major company most people will not get rich from collecting a paycheck... I'm actually about to make some salmon and grits, not quite croquettes, but close.

@ Keith: I don't think I'll get rich, but I'm sure gonna try. You never know I guess.

It's so funny because I was talking to my husband awhile ago about fish and grits going together. He didn't believe me so I'll have to make sure he reads your comment. lol Now you have me wanting some salmon. Yummy! I don't think we've had it since the end of summer. I think I was grilling it every other day till it got cold outside. One of the many reasons I have to look forward to summer. lol Happy MLK day!!!

Yep the family is great. Hubby did dinner again this past weekend. My honey has gone from a NON-Cooker to a master chef in a matter of a few weekends. Lol. He made mediterranean chicken this time. He better be careful before I make him the official cook.

I need to find a way to build in into my daily routine so it becomes a habit. That is if it doesn't kill me first. Billy Blanks is NO JOKE. Lol

When men do something nice for the lady, we are often scared that you guys will expect this all the time. ;]

I have about 15lbs of holiday joy to let go of and I'm looking to do it in 3 months. Tae Bo, I don't think so! I'll be using a bike riding through Central Park to get in shape.

Btw, are you rich? How can you afford gas AND Starbucks? Have you tried soy milk?

Glad to hear everything is blissful with you and the God! ;]

Hey Capt:

The Hubby told me the same thing when he first cooked. He said I just want him to do it all the time now and HE'S RIGHT! Lol. No, actually an occasional meal is nice. He cooked another fabulous dinner last weekend and I'm SO looking forward to what he's going to cook up this weekend. I think he's going to try Italian. I think we've started a new little family tradition. Lol

I haven't had any soy milk that I like. I can do Rice Dream in cereal sometime and in Hot Cocoa, but to drink it straight. YUCK! The others I've tried aren't any better and it makes me SO mad because I LOVE milk.

I need to get my butt on my bike. I bought one 4 years ago and have only rode it 2 or 3 times. Shame on me.

Gas and Starbucks are both definitely a luxury. Lol
