Just a few things....

posted Friday, 27 June 2008

Hey er'body!!!!  Happy Friday, YEAH!!!!!  I'm so excited.  This is the 2nd Saturday in a row that I haven't had to work so I am SOOOOO looking forward to my weekend.  We don't really have much planned, largely due to the fact that we are BROKE.  It seems like all we can afford to do these days is pay bills and put gas in the car and that's IT!  This crap is for the birds.

Oh, And I don't care what yall say, I AM BACK!!!!!  Two weeks beats two months right.  lol.  I'm hoping in the next few weeks to switch my work schedule which will free up some time for me to do other things that I enjoy like.....HAVING A LIFE.  I don't know what I was thinking choosing to work the swing shift.  I know what I was thinking, it was primarily a due to daycare issues, but now that those are resolved, it's really no point in my  continuing to work those hours.

The downside to my being off these few weekends is that I'm back in training.  What's even worse than that is that I have the same trainer as before.  You know, the one that I complained about that was so incompetent, had no clue what he was doing and had frustrated the HECK out of me.  I blogged about it before, but couldn't find the post.  It's a little bit better this time around, but not much.  I am however, loving being able to have the weekend with the family even though they are on my nerves at the moment.  As much as I miss them and my puppy when I'm gone they no how to drive me crazy when I'm home.  Lol.  And yes, we only have one puppy now.  I can't even blog about it with out getting teary eyed, so you can read about it on the Hubby's blog if you choose.

The teen kid is trying to get a job.  He has football practice and weight training over the summer so I don't know how he plans on squeezing in a job.  He has an interview at Invesco Field so it will be interesting to see how he juggles that.  Not to say that he doesn't need a job, because he REALLY does.  Shoot we need to even put the baby to work.  Speaking of the baby, we had to fire the old day care provider.  He started having an issue being there daily, crying and saying he didn't want to go.  I know that's typical for little kids, but it was something about him crying that was SO very unsettling to me and made me wonder if there was more to him not wanting to go other than wanting to just be with mommy.  I went to drop him off one day, mind you it was mid day, kids were napping and she was KNOCKED out.  I was ringing the door bell and knocking and she didn't answer.  I called and she answered sounding all incoherent and what not.  That made me uncomfortable because if there are kids there with her she should NOT be sleeping like that.  No telling what those kids could get into.  It was SO apparent that she was knocked out and she tried to lie and say she wasn't.  HELL, I am NOT paying you to sleep on the job.  To make matters worse she called me one day telling me that she had spoken to her other parent's and they were ok with her husband watching the kids while she ran to the bank and ran a few other errands.  She wanted to know if I was ok with that.  HELL NO!!!!!!  I don't know that man and as far as I know he is NOT licensed and even if he was I am not paying HER to have someone else watching my baby.  Of course I told her I wasn't cool with that.  Oh, but wait yall, it gets better......

Now keep in mind that the baby is usually only there for about 3 hours a day if that and he doesn't even go on a daily basis because Hubby would always bust his arss daily to get off so we didn't HAVE to take him to daycare.  Mind you we are still paying for full time day care. He was there for about 2 months and went a total of 5 or 6 times. So one day she calls me at 12:00 and asks me if he's coming that day.  I'm like "usually when he wont be there I call to let you know.  Why?"  She says that she had promised her daughter that she would take her to take her permit test that day for her b-day and she completely forgot.  Now, I'm pissed because I feel like if you are running a business, daycare at that, you need to be available daily during your scheduled hours.  I don't know, maybe it's me, maybe my expectations are a little high, I don't know.  Not to mention that she didn't have sense enough to call me first thing in the morning, she waited two hours before I had to leave to go to work.  What kind of mess is that. She pulled that crap on two different occasions. The other time she called me saying she was going to be closed for the day because the kids had all been sick and she wanted to take the day to sanitize.  WTF!!!!  Ummmm, yeah, ok!!!!

The reason we decided to put him in daycare is because we needed something consistent and she definitely wasn't that.  It got to the point where I was wanting to go and find some type of record-able device or nanny cam type thing to plant on the baby to see and hear what was going on when he was there.  I resolved that if I am going to go to those extremes I need to pull him out, which is what I did.  Do you know this....person...tried to charge me for an additional month since I didn't give her notice.  I'm like with all the issues we've had with you, you not fulfilling YOUR end of the contract you expect me to pay an additional month.  On top of you being paid for two months when he was only there for a few days????? Give me an FREAKING break.  Hubby was like I signed a contract so I have no choice BUT to pay her.  UGH!!!!!   So now he's in another day care that he enjoys.  He is happy on a daily basis, doesn't cry when we drop him off and ALWAYS talks excitedly about his day and the teachers there.  It's another home daycare and she has 3 other staff working for her so I'm pretty comfortable and it seems like he is too.

In other news, The Daughter performed in the Shakespeare Festival towards the end of the school year.  She was Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet and a Fairy in Mid Summer Nights dream.  She was SOOOOO cute.  I don't know if I blogged about her participation in that or not, but she ended up getting an award for her performance as Lady Capulet.  I actually missed that performance, which is a LONG story and I wont bore you with the long sordid details..... but heres a picture of her in her fairy outfit.  It was super hot and she pulled off her little fairy wings, but she looked SOOO adorable.

The step daughter is here and it's amazing how much someone can change in a year.  So she's only 11 (as of June 1st) and she's like an inch taller than me.  Not that I'm that tall or anything, but goodness!!!!  She is turning into such a beautiful little lady.  She was a beautiful little girl, but it's just funny because she's doesn't have that baby look anymore.  I missed he little butt and I hate that we only get her for a few months.  It's so funny cause her and the 10 year old who are only a few months apart, definitely seem like little sister big sister.  I wish she could be here permanently or at least spend a year, but I'm sure her certain folks wouldn't go for that.  Here's her last year

and here's her now

Awww, They are SO cute.  She looks so teenagery.  Lol

Ok, this is getting a little (ok a lot) lengthy, so I'll end this and get back with you all later.  I'm hoping everyone has a happy and safe weekend.  And I WILL BE BACK SOON.  LOL

Peace and blessings.

I'm so sorry to hear about your puppy... :-( It's always hard to put a family pet down, at least for me, they're members of my family... We've had pets hit by cars too, although the last few pets have been indoor only, for they're safety they aren't allowed out. Sucks that he made a break for it that ended up in a hit and run. I hope karma gets that guy good!
